I definitely see that Gen Y is all about the two extremes of a) not giving a flying fuck about anything and b) losing your mind trying to control everything. I swear, none of you people make any sense to me. The reason we go on crazy adventures to exotic places is to LET GO of control. Let the world show us what it's got. It can't possibly do that if we're trying to make it do what we want it to do.

It's the same as when you fall in love. You can't turn that person into what you want them to be. You love them not only for the things that make you happy, but the things that drive you fucking crazy, too. Because those things are part of that person. The things in life that scare you are just as much a part of life as flowers and rainbows. So embrace them.

Crazy broad. Smooches.

This is such a beautiful post!

Everyone I know, my classmates, my friends, my on-line buddies, must of us feel a tremendous about of stress and anxiety. While some of it is external, deadlines, family issues, school, the job search, etc, a lot of it is internal. Internal= the crap pressure that we give to ourselves.

I remember in high school that a teacher said that we Gen Y were the 1st generation that wouldn't live better than our parents... that struck me as the worst news ever. What would I achieve, if I couldn't do better than my parents? I mean, my 'rents always told me to go farther and be better.

I wonder if that is part of our problem, we have our own super high expectations for ourselves, then we have the expectations of others and in the meantime, that super awesome person that we are (when we aren't trying to be that person that everyone wants us to be) is screaming on the inside of us 'cause she wants to be free full time :-)

That was a long ramble.....

Enjoy France!!!! (and know that America misses you and is anticipating your return)
