Hi Susan,

I have been following your blog for some time now and I really enjoy it because I feel that we are in similar positions. I left my job at an international consulting firm in downtown LA to pursue my goal to be an entrepreneur and start my own company. I has been 9 months since I left my company, and we finally have our private beta out. Even though we have progress, it is extremely difficult to be an entrepreneur because of the 100 hour work weeks with $0 income. Lets both keep on truckin!

Since we're both members of BC, I want to invite you to my FD Career private beta:

http://FDcareer.com
Code: junloayza

FD Career is a website where you can research companies and contribute by adding your comments about companies. This is a very early private beta, so you'll most likely encounter a lot of bugs. Throughout the summer, we'll be releasing more features like the FD RPG and FD Answers.

Would love it if you tried it out, added your contributions, and gave me your feedback.

Thanks Susan! Look forward to hearing back from you.

- Jun

<em>Thanks Jun! It's always a mixed feeling when you hear that someone is in the same boat as you are -- I'm both grateful to know that there are others out there who understand the feeling and frustrated for you at the same time. It takes a lot of courage to quit a job with a steady income, doesn't it? It's important to be following your dream though, and I'm so glad that you are able to realize yours -- I'll cross my fingers for you, but it doesn't seem like I need to...I checked out your site and it looks like you guys are on your way!

Best of luck for your future, and I'll keep checking in.

My favorite part about this story (besides the fact that I was there and I know the converse feeling of, "OH MY GOSH, I just lost my roommate in a city she's never been to, on a transit system she's not familiar with) is the part where the young couple said, "Remember when that happened to us?" In the context of your post, it reinforces the fact that everyone goes through these trials, and everyone has that moment of panic, of "what do I do now." But, also, everyone comes through it with a load of wisdom and stronger for their adventure.

<em>Roommate: I love everything about this comment. Subsequently, thanks for losing me ;)
